At Ryecroft we are lucky to have two experienced and highly qualified tennis coaches helping senior and junior members to develop their game.

Karen Fisher is a Level 4 coach and provides a wide range of coaching services at Ryecroft. Whether it is coaching kids or adults, beginners or experts, individual or groups, Karen can offer a session for you.

Faris McGrath is a Level 3 coach having been a junior member at Ryecroft in his younger days.  He has been running our popular Saturday morning taster sessions for juniors and friends.  He is now attached to Ryecroft and has established his own programme of coaching classes for red and orange ball juniors and adult clinics.

tennis-red-5-8yrs

The Red stage is for beginners. The red ball is larger than a yellow ball and doesn't bounce as high, making it a breeze for even the youngest players to hit it comfortably. The courts and nets used in the red stage are much smaller and easier for kids to move around.

tennis-orange-8-9yrs

Orange balls bounce higher and move faster than the Red balls but lower and slower than the Green ball. They are a step toward the traditional yellow tennis ball while still remaining fun and manageable for players learning the game.

tennis-green-9-10yrs

Mini Tennis Green is played on a full size tennis court, with bigger rackets and balls which are a little softer than yellow balls. It’s the next stage before moving on to full compression yellow balls on a full sized court and helps players develop and improve all aspects of their game.
